We’ve been musing in this newsletter about the possibility of an early election for weeks — and now it’s all anyone at the Pink Palace is talking about.
Pros and cons: As regular readers will know by now, there’s loads of factors at play:
DOUG FORD and the PCs are riding high in the polls, fresh off back-to-back byelection wins, leaning into the Premier’s policy flip-flops, staring down an RCMP Greenbelt investigation and making it rain attack ads on BONNIE CROMBIE, the rookie Liberal captain who’s still settling into her groove.
Over on the Hill, PIERRE POILIEVRE is on track to trounce JUSTIN TRUDEAU, which is dangerous territory for Ford at Queen’s Park, which tends to go in the opposite political direction than the House of Commons (Read: Tories at the Leg and Liberals on the Hill, and vice versa).
