POLL WATCH — Beware the early election.
That’s the upshot from fresh Liaison Strategies polling that suggests support for the PCs would crater should DOUG FORD call a snap vote.
By the numbers: Ford is still sitting pretty — and despite a steady stream of policy flip-flops and an RCMP Greenbelt investigation hanging over his head, the PCs clocked in at 39 per cent support among decided and leaning voters. That’s an 11-point lead over BONNIE CROMBIE and the Grits.
When asked how they’d mark their ballot if an election were called earlier in 2025, respondents were turned off — dragging down PC support to 36 per cent. The Tories are probably not sweating that too much, as they would still hold on to 92 per cent of their core voters.
But, and it’s a biggie: Crombie’s Liberals would get a boost, from 28 per cent to 31 per cent support, narrowing the gap with the ruling Tories to just five points. NDP and Green support was virtually unchanged and within the margin of error, …
