There is a lot happening in Trump world — and DOUG FORD is headed straight for it, literally. Here are three things to know about.
— The Premier has the President’s attention. Speaking to reporters outside the White House, DONALD TRUMP referred to Ford as being “a very strong man in Canada” who had changed course on electricity tariffs.
“He has called and he says he’s not gonna do that. It would have been a very bad thing if he did, and he’s not gonna do that. So I respect that.”
Earlier, Ford had scored an invite to the White House from U.S. Commerce Secretary HOWARD LUTNICK. He’s headed stateside Thursday alongside federal Finance Minister DOMINIC LeBLANC. “In response [to the meeting], Ontario agreed to suspend its 25 per cent surcharge on exports of electricity to Michigan, New York and Minnesota,” Lutnick’s office said on social.
