A CONSCIOUS UNCOUPLING — Welcome to single-tier city, Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon. The Ford government has moved to dissolve Peel Region by 2025. But it could be a messy breakup. And it might not be the only one.

Here are three outstanding questions:

The relationship? — Tensions were thick at the break-up presser. Mississauga Mayor BONNIE CROMBIE and Brampton Mayor PATRICK BROWN made faces at one another, while Caledon Mayor ANNETTE GROVES painted her city as the “child” in the divorce it never wanted — perhaps offering a preview of what’s to come as the cities untangle.
