After last week’s not-so-sleepy constituency break, it’s shaping up to be another busy one at the Pink Palace. Pour a coffee and buckle up — this is what you need to know:
POLITICALLY SPEAKING — The keffiyeh is creeping back up again. The waters were relatively calm last week when it came to Speaker TED ARNOTT’s explosive ban on the arguably overtly political yet traditional Arab scarf — but with MPPs back at the Legislature this morning, the NDP is promising another round of drama.
NDP Leader MARIT STILES promised to defy the Speaker’s ruling if the PCs don’t take action to overturn it, too. Don’t forget, the Tories have blocked the NDP’s past attempts at getting unanimous consent to reverse the ban that all party leaders have spoken out against.
All eyes (and ears) will be on the PC benches to see if any MPPs will again move against Premier DOUG FORD’s pro-keffiyeh stance and block the NDP’s latest attempt to reverse the ban. If they do block it, the NDP says those op…
