FUNDRAISING WATCH — It’s a sure sign the political year is coming to an end: a final push for party donations.

Here’s how the political parties stack up in the final days of 2023.

But first, the usual caveats: Elections Ontario doesn’t readily disclose smaller donations under $200, but some of the parties have provided internal numbers. Sometimes there’s a lag in public reporting, and all parties are expecting a year-end bump in donations (and reminding folks about the annual tax credit that’s up for grabs) — so these figures could change significantly before the year wraps. The following numbers include the byelections and leadership contests for the Liberals and NDP — meaning supporters could donate more than the annual limit of $3,350 (don’t forget, that threshold ticks up slightly every year to offset the phasing-out of the per-vote taxpayer-funded subsidy).
