THE QUEEN IS IN THE HOUSE — After adjourning to mark the death of QUEEN ELIZABETH II, MPPs are back in the Legislature this afternoon to pay tribute.
Here’s the play-by-play:
— 1:15 p.m.: MPPs have the option of re-swearing the oaths of allegiance to His Majesty the King. A group ceremony will be hosted by Clerk TODD DECKER, but it isn’t necessary — the oaths MPPs swore after being elected in June still hold.
— 2 p.m.: Speaker TED ARNOTT will kick off proceedings with the usual prayers.
After that, Solicitor General MICHAEL KERZNER will seek unanimous consent to honour the victims of this week’s GTA shooting rampage, including cop ANDREW HONG.
Arnott will run through routine proceedings such as introduction of bills and petitions, but it isn’t likely there will be much on the docket.
