AMBLER HEADS TO COURT — As first reported by Queen’s Park Observer, rejected PC candidate and former MP STELLA AMBLER will have her day in court this morning. Ambler is fighting Premier DOUG FORD’s appointment of Collingwood Mayor BRIAN SAUNDERSON as their 2022 candidate in Simcoe—Grey, a PC bastion where ousted Independent JIM WILSON will not seek reelection.

Ambler argues that she was poised to clinch the nomination when Ford effectively nixed the contest and named Saunderson. “Just two days after a membership list was disseminated showing Ms. Ambler in the lead, the nomination race was abruptly cancelled,” her lawyer argues in the court documents.

That flies in the face of the PC Party’s constitution, which sets out an “open” and “democratic” nomination process, they argue.
