It’s been a weekend. From unions squaring off with DOUG FORD over the return-to-office order, to another Crosstown delay, to the Premier pledging an “Andrew’s Law” crackdown on dangerous drivers, it’s been a ride. Here’s your quick catch-up before the week really gets moving.
BACK TO THE “STONE AGE” — The union repping Ontario’s professional civil servants is taking Ford to task over his edict that they’ll all be back in the office full-time come January. AMAPCEO, which covers 16,500 workers, says Queen’s Park didn’t give them the contractually required two weeks’ notice before rolling out the return-to-office plan, and has filed a policy grievance.
Union prez DAVE BULMER called the government’s move a blindsiding power play, arguing members should’ve had a chance to weigh in before being told to pack up their home offices.
