DOUG FORD riffed with reporters at the Precinct yesterday, for no particular reason — yet, in true Ford form, it turned out to be a doozy of a newser.
“I’ve been missing all the media,” the Premier began. “My heart’s been pitter-pattering…Let’s get at it.”
1-800-Premier: Ford confirmed his government will appeal a court decision that upheld the Information and Privacy Commissioner’s ruling to release his personal cellphone records, something that has been at the centre of a long FOI battle.
Ford regularly gives out his personal number (much to the chagrin of staff who deal with texts and calls, sometimes from angry folks, at all hours). It’s something his late brother and former Toronto Mayor ROB FORD was known and loved for.
But, per the commish and now the courts, using a device for government business would also subject that device to public scrutiny and transparency laws.
