FES — Christmas comes early for fiscal wonks. The Fall Economic Statement — a mini-budget and fiscal update — drops November 14, a day before the legal deadline.
The teaser from Finance Minister PETER BETHLENFALVY, who was speaking at the Canadian Club in Toronto, suggests the PCs aren’t feeling so spend-y anymore — despite reporting a surprise $2.1-billion surplus last fiscal year, instead of the $33-billion deficit initially forecast in the budget.
