GIG WORKER SURVEY SAYS — The Ford government is dropping major hints about its benefits package to cover digital app-based gig workers, such as ride-hailing and food delivery drivers.

The PCs are currently consulting the public on details of the package, which was announced before the June election and includes certain employment rights such as minimum wage and regular paydays, and would ensure workers get transparency on how their pay is calculated.

The survey, which will help inform how the benefits package is designed, offers some insight into the policy direction the government is exploring. That includes the possibility of businesses and workers contributing to the cost of coverage.

The survey asks: Are you a worker, business or neither?
