FORD DRAWS THE LINE — The Premier is taking a hard pass on matching the new federal riding boundaries for the next provincial election — and some GTA ridings are getting the shaft.
“No,” DOUG FORD said curtly when asked if changes were coming. “Why change something that works?”
He took a shot at Ottawa: “Just because the feds want to do it, jury-rig the ridings,” Ford charged, suggesting gerrymandering. (The new federal map was decided by an independent commission.)
And a self-own: “The less politicians, the better.”
It means Elections Ontario can breathe easy. As the electoral agency first told me back in June, they’re “prepared to deliver fair and efficient elections whenever they are called.”
