LET ‘ER RIP — It’s happening. Those bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge and University streets that DOUG FORD has been railing against are coming out.
The PCs are taking their gridlock-fighting offensive a step further. Last week, the government introduced the bike-lane ban bill, which requires municipalities to seek provincial permission to install new lanes that would take away other traffic lanes.
Now, the government is using regulations to rip up those Toronto lanes “and return them to a lane of traffic for motor vehicles.” The public has until November 20 to weigh in — and then it could be sayonara to those bike lanes.
The official line from Transportation Minister PRABMEET SARKARIA: “Toronto already loses $11 billion each year due to congestion. We are doing everything we can to fight congestion and keep major arterial roads moving, but the removal of lanes of traffic on our busiest roads, such as Bloor Street, Un…
