Bill 5 blows through the House: DOUG FORD’s Progressive Conservatives rammed through Bill 5 on Wednesday, handing the province sweeping new powers to fast-track development — and lighting a fire under Indigenous and environmental opposition.

Recall: The legislation allows the government to override local bylaws to create “special economic zones” aimed at speeding up mining, highways, and other major projects. The PCs used their majority to cut off debate and push the bill through 71-44.
