FUNDRAISING WATCH — BONNIE CROMBIE is leading the pack when it comes to raising cash for her Liberal leadership bid.

By the numbers: Officially, we now have figures for almost all* contenders in the race. According to the public disclosures, Crombie has earned $223,835 from 118 donors giving an average of $1,913.

Unofficially: One well-placed source in Crombie’s camp pegs the actual number at “over half a million” dollars. They also tell me that, after a relatively slow start, Crombie is now rolling in the memberships, with well over 3,000 new supporters under her belt so far.

That’s critical as this year’s leadership contest will be the party’s first under the new one-member-one-vote system, as opposed to the (arguably more entertaining but less democratic) delegated convention.
