NEW CABINET ON DECK — Introducing the 30-Minister Cabinet, including Premier DOUG FORD:
WHO’S UP — On Health — perhaps the biggest file to fill after CHRISTINE ELLIOTT decided not to seek re-election — is SYLVIA JONES, who also takes on the role of Deputy Premier. Jones was widely rumoured to take on the portfolio, not least because she’s had a hand on he pandemic file in her previous role as Solicitor General and has been a trusted voice around the cabinet table.
Taking up the mantle from Jones as Solicitor General is rookie MPP MICHAEL KERZNER (York Centre), who previously served as chairman of the board of DNA Labs Canada.
The other rookies: The Premier’s nephew and former Toronto city councillor MICHAEL FORD (York South—Weston) takes on Citizenship and Multiculturalism.
