BACK TO SCHOOL, OR NOT — Everyone is waiting to see what moves Ontario makes on the schools front as Omicron pushes Covid transmissions to new heights and other provinces extend the winter break for students.
Sources confirm Cabinet is slated to meet today to discuss whether schools will open as scheduled in January — something that’s pretty much kaput, I’m told. While details are scant, sources previously said the Ford government will shutter schools next month — though it isn’t clear for how long and which students would move to virtual learning. There may also be new restrictions on larger capacity venues like stadiums, sources tell me — something Science Table head Dr. PETER JUNI has called for.
