It’s been a relatively quiet few days in Ontario politics, but the Legislature is slowly creaking back to life this week.

MPPs-elect are being sworn in. Caucus mates are getting together. Cabinet is already eyeing major policy. New staff are measuring the drapes.

But after this week, the commotion will die down again until April 14, when the 44th Parliament kicks off, followed by a Throne Speech the next day and the spring budget sometime after that. (That means municipalities and agencies that rely on provincial funding will have to hold out a little longer to get a sense of their annual budgets.)

One big thing to look forward to until then: Wednesday’s Cabinet swearing-in. Premier DOUG FORD will debut his new executive council in a low-key affair at the Royal Ontario Museum tomorrow afternoon.
