ABOVE THE FOLD

MEDIA MELEE — The NDP is fighting back against the PCs in fresh campaign ad spots — and singing a familiar tune to that of their rivals.

As part of the blitz, the party dropped its new slogan: “Strong. Ready. Working for you.”

One TV clip features a montage including a health worker, seniors and a family, with Leader ANDREA HORWATH’s voiceover promising that she’s “ready to defeat DOUG FORD, fix what’s broken, and get to work for you.” She touches on health care, housing affordability, and a bright future for kids.

In another spot, Horwath makes a cameo and closes out with “together we can get it done.”

If that sounds familiar, it’s because that’s also the PCs latest tagline. The governing party put out its own ads over the weekend, painting the Premier as a “yes” man and Horwath as someone who always says “no.” The PCs also dropped a new jingle with the lyrics “only Doug will get it done.”
