AD WATCH — With a bunch of Queen’s Park alumni in the running for municipal office, we decided to take a look at their social media ad strategies.
Here’s what we found:
— In Brampton: The Pink Palace has been glued to the dramatic race for Mayor of Brampton, which features some high-profile Queen’s Park connections.
PATRICK BROWN, former PC leader and disqualified federal Conservative leadership contestant, is running for re-election in a crowded field that includes NIKKI KAUR, the city staffer and whistleblower whose allegations of corruption prompted an investigation at City Hall. Kaur’s backed by PC pollster NICK KOUVALIS and Liberal strategist MARCEL WIEDER, who’s also worked on the Working Families campaign.
Meanwhile, outgoing city councillor JEFF BOWMAN has urged the Ford government not to extend strong-mayor powers to Brown, should he win on October 24.
