A relatively sleepy civic holiday weekend around the Park — but there’s no rest for these energy and housing policymakers, bureaucrats and MPPs:

MORE DMs ON DECK — A bunch more Deputy Ministers will be (permanently) shuffled on August 12: JASON FITZSIMMONS is taking up the mantle from Hill-bound GREG ORENCSAK at Finance, where TIM SCHUURMAN has been filling in in the interim.

Fitzsimmons’s move leaves a vacancy at Energy and Electrification, which will be handled by SUSANNA LAAKSONEN-CRAIG, who was previously DM for Mines.

SHAWN BATISE, who’s currently on the Northern Development and Indigenous Affairs, will take over at Mines.

DAVID CORBETT is headed for Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation, while DENISE COLE is now DM for Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity.

On September 2, SARAH HARRISON becomes DM for Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. Harrison currently handles Tourism, Culture Sport and Gaming, and will be replaced b…
