I got my hands on the full itinerary for the Grits’ big platform-reveal weekend in Toronto. ROMAN BABER is officially off the 2022 ticket. But first, I caught up with a wannabe MPP in Windsor—Tecumseh — long-held NDP territory that’s arguably in play now that incumbent PERCY HATFIELD is bowing out of re-election, and where the PCs are gunning hard to elect ANDREW DOWIE, a local Tecumseh councillor circa 2014 who was acclaimed the candidate in November.

CANDIDATE Q+A — Why are you running for MPP? Having a voice in government will make a difference for our community. Premier DOUG FORD has already announced several investments in our area that have been long-standing asks that have not been delivered upon under past governments — and I do not want to see those announcements lose steam. The best way to achieve that is to give Windsor a voice that has been absent at the decision table.
