CALLING ALL CONTENDERS — Want to run for MPP? The Grits may need you.

Two days out from the deadline to be nominated as an election candidate, the third-place party in the Legislature and second-place party in many polls still needs to lock in a handful of contenders in key races.

The Liberals had major ground to make up in order to run a full slate of 124 candidate, thanks to their 2018 walloping that left them with just seven seats — and a dearth of incumbents. They’ve also lost several would-be candidates in the spots they managed to hold on to, including KATHLEEN WYNNE (Don Valley West) and MICHAEL GRAVELLE (Thunder Bay—Superior North), who aren’t running again, and MICHAEL COTEAU (Don Valley East) who now sits as an MP on the Hill.

Here’s the seven ridings where the Liberals still need election flag-bearers (in alphabetical order): HALDIMAND—NORFOLK; KENORA—RAINY RIVER; KIIWETINOONG; LAMBTON—KENT—MIDDLESEX; SAULT STE. MARIE; and TIMMINS.
