Captain Canada, reporting for duty. Premier DOUG FORD couldn’t resist taking a spin in the spotlight to weigh in on Prime Minister MARK CARNEY’s seemingly successful meeting at the White House, warming up the room ahead of today’s first ministers’ meeting on domestic soil.
Ford held an impromptu scrum with reporters at Queen’s Park, offering his unfiltered take on Carney’s sit-down with U.S. President DONALD TRUMP with all the gusto of a Premier who still sees himself as Captain Canada — a position that worked well for him during the campaign. Ford said Carney “held his own” and it’s clear Trump likes the new PM a lot more than JUSTIN TRUDEAU.
“That’s the first start.
