MEDIA DARLINGS — Premier DOUG FORD continues to make the media rounds stateside, talking about the tariff tango with DONALD TRUMP.
Primetime Premier: Ford spoke with CNN’s ERIN BURNETT on Outfront last evening, where he brushed off Trump’s trolling — in which the U.S. President-elect has called JUSTIN TRUDEAU “governor,” Canada a “state,” and CHRYSTIA FREELAND “toxic.”
“He has a sense of humor, but I’m more concerned about the trade, making sure that we secure trade on both sides of the border,” Ford said.
The Premier also continues to soften his hawkish approach to the tariff threat — something Ford appeared to do at this week’s Council of the Federation meeting. But he’s still sticking to his guns when it comes to potential retaliatory levies, including cutting off electricity to New York, Michigan and Minnesota.
“That’s the last thing I want to do,” Ford told Burnett. “I want to sell more electricity and more power to our U.S. friends and closest allies in the world.”…
