The Ford government is facing mounting pressure to do something about ballooning ER wait times amid warnings from doctors that the situation is as bad as ever.
Some hospitals — including in Niagara, Markham-Stouffville, Ottawa and Lindsay — are urging patients to go elsewhere if their condition isn’t urgent.
That’s got Oppo critics up in arms — and the Ford government MIA.
“Come out of hiding,” Liberal Health critic ADIL SHAMJI demanded at a presser on Thursday. “It is not lost on anyone that the Ford government timed the adjournment of the Legislature to minimize any accountability or scrutiny it might have faced in light of the Auditor General’s findings. At the same time, the Minister of Health remains silent and in complete denial of the reality faced by patients and healthcare workers.”
