JAMA’S IN — Prominent disability advocate SARAH JAMA is calling her forthcoming crowning as the New Democrat candidate in Hamilton Centre a “sudden turn of events.”
Jama will automatically carry the NDP’s banner in an upcoming byelection to replace ex-leader-and-MPP-turned-Steeltown-mayoral-candidate ANDREA HORWATH in the long-held orange bastion.
Jama had expected the nomination race to be contested, but she was the only one who got the green light to run, and will therefore be automatically acclaimed at a meeting (and “dance party”) on November 3 at the Worker’s Arts and Heritage Museum. CUPE Ontario’s FRED HAHN will be in tow. Invite.
