As criticism over Premier DOUG FORD’s approach to the so-called freedom convoy bubbles up and Ottawa declares a state of emergency, Solicitor General SYLVIA JONES is telling forces on the ground that they have all the tools to deal with protesters themselves.
Earlier Sunday, Ford — who was accused by Oppo critics of “emboldening” protesters — underscored that message, tweeting that the province has already provided all requested resources to the capital.
Later on, Jones gave props to Toronto police, City Hall and the OPP for “their exemplary work in ensuring [Saturday’s] demonstration in the City of Toronto was safe.”
Then there’s Ottawa and beleaguered police chief PETER SLOLY, who hired political crisis communications firm Navigator to help manage public messaging on the matter.
