BONNIE’S BIG DAY III — BONNIE CROMBIE’s unofficial entry into the Liberal leadership race continues to ripple out, riling up her rivals on all sides of the aisle.
Versus DOUG FORD: The Premier took aim at his would-be political opponent for staying on as Mississauga Mayor as she explores a bid to lead the Grits.
“You can’t put your butt on both sides of the fence,” he said at a presser in London re: auto worker training. “Bonnie’s going to be running around the province not worrying about the people in Mississauga. In my opinion, it’s a real slap in the face to the residents there.”
But Crombie isn’t the only one straddling jurisdictional lines. Just this week, the PCs announced their byelection man in Scarborough—Guildwood, GARY CRAWFORD, would be staying on as Toronto councillor during the campaign. Back in their City Hall days, Ford and his late brother ROB also kept their councillor gigs while running for Mayor.
