The knives are sharpening as BONNIE CROMBIE’s leadership review creeps closer — remember the New Leaf Liberals? — is organizing IRL ahead of the looming September AGM.
Fresh off an event in Toronto’s Leslieville that drew a mixed crowd, New Leaf is ramping up its campaign to wrest control of the Ontario Liberal Party from Crombie’s grip. The grassroots group — still pushing its online petition, which had 241 signatures as of this morning — has a slate of meetups planned, including one Thursday in Ottawa, and more in Mississauga and Burlington through early August.
The group is urging members to register as delegates ASAP to have their say at the party’s annual general meeting this fall. Their ask? Volunteer, organize, sign the petition — and help “get our party back on track.”
