First in Observer — MX MYSTERY — Metrolinx and the Ford government don’t have much new to say about yesterday’s exclusive report that their likely opening date for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will be by December 2024 — but y’all did.

“I cussed out loud when I heard the date off the air,” said Newstalk 1010 host JOHN MOORE. “It was the MFer.”

“It will mean 13 years to build this new transit line. That is simply unacceptable,” wrote Sun columnist BRIAN LILLEY. “Minister [PRABMEET] SARKARIA needs to get a handle on this project, on [transit agency CEO PHIL] VERSTER, and on Metrolinx.”

“Metrolinx communicating the ‘what’ when Torontonians just want to know the ‘when’,” The Local magazine editor TAI HUYNH posted on X, referring to those splashy promo videos Metrolinx has been posting to social media.
