First in Queen’s Park Observer — It’s official. Despite being wishy-washy over where he’ll run, Liberal Leader STEVEN DEL DUCA is making a bid for his old stomping grounds in Vaughan—Woodbridge.
The Grit captain was spotted door-knocking over the weekend with campaign literature that says he’s “fighting for families” in the riding, where Del Duca lost to current rep MICHAEL TIBOLLO, who’s now a pretty popular PC Minister, in charge of the Mental Health and Addictions file.
When he clinched the leadership in 2020, seat-less Del Duca pledged to run only in Vaughan—Woodbridge — but after I scooped low-key polling his camp did to gauge his prospects in Don Valley East — which is vacant now that MICHAEL COTEAU was elected to the Hill — Del Duca had been cagey over where he’d run.
The odds of an arguably costly byelection being called so close to the general election in June are also slim. A byelection to replace Coteau could have opened the door for Del Duca to…
