These are just some of the fiery comments that came up on the government’s emergency call with the restaurant industry Tuesday, according to sources familiar with the goings-on — which I scooped in yesterday’s edition. Stakeholders are upset that certain venues like theatres and arenas are back to full capacity, while bars and restaurants are subject to distancing rules. They want an explanation for the policy or for it to be scrapped.
Further incensing restauranteurs is the fact that Tourism Minister LISA MACLEOD was a no-show. Instead, she sent senior staff and ministry officials. The Health Minister’s chief of staff was also on hand.
