POLL WATCH — DOUG FORD has lost his post-election shine.
That’s the upshot from a new poll from the Angus Reid Institute that shows the Premier’s approval rating has tanked, by 10 points — one of the steepest dips among Canada’s Premiers — as the tariff skirmish with the U.S. fades from voters’ minds.
That moment has passed. And so it seems has the public’s goodwill.
After riding high during Canada’s “elbows up” moment earlier this year, Ford is now facing growing discontent over domestic pain points: his hot-potato “special economic zones” legislation, cost of living, housing, ER wait times and more. Indigenous and environmental groups are among those leading the charge against Ford when it comes to Bill 5. So are Oppo critics, who now see an opening.
