ENDGAME ENERGY — It’s full-tilt at Queen’s Park to start the week, and as always, the approach of winter recess is turning routine business into a scramble of last-minute plays. The closer we get to shutdown mode, the wilder the moves become.

Bill 60 — Housing Minister ROB FLACK’s fast-tracked, hot-potato omnibus legislation that critics warn will lead to quicker evictions and give the province sweeping control over municipal planning — is barreling toward its final vote, protests be damned.

Thousands of tenants and advocates flooded the South Lawn in a weekend show of force, urging the PCs to pump the brakes before the bill becomes law. Fat chance, given the Tory majority.

Meanwhile, Attorney General DOUG DOWNEY and Solicitor General MICHAEL KERZNER are poised to drop fresh details on the government’s next big crime-policy moves.
