NOT-SO-SLEEPY SUMMER — The House is out, which means there’s no debates, lawmaking or lobbying going on at the Pink Palace — but the summer isn’t exactly off to a quiet start, either.

Premier at the podium: DOUG FORD is on the speech circuit, addressing the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s “Future of Manufacturing Symposium” at 12:30 p.m., followed by a “fireside” chat at 12:40 p.m.

Save the date: Ford’s manufacturing-minded tour continues on June 19, when he’ll address the Empire Club on the theme of “Building Ontario,” featuring FLAVIO VOLPE, head of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association.
