Committee meetings are a relatively quiet affair compared to Question Period and other debates in the chamber — it’s where the nitty-gritty of lawmaking is hammered out. But that’s about to change.
This morning, Housing Minister STEVE CLARK will be the opening act for public hearings on Bill 3, the controversial strong-mayor legislation that has almost as many proponents as detractors.
Clark addresses the newly named Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy at 9 a.m.
The speaking roster hasn’t been published yet, but stakeholders are expected to weigh in over at least two days of hearings, including today and Monday. Livestream.
