With ELIZABETH MAY bowing out of another run as federal leader, I asked MIKE SCHREINER if he’d consider taking his talents national. The short answer? Hard pass. Here’s what his office told me:
“He has no plans to run nationally and is very happy to be focused on the Ontario Greens.”
Fair enough — but here’s the thing: if the federal Greens want to stay (or maybe become?) relevant, they might take a page from their Ontario cousins. Schreiner consistently punches above his weight at Queen’s Park: he’s usually the first Oppo leader out of the gate with sharp statements on whatever the Premier is up to — a trait the Press Gallery eats up.
