Vote-grabbing goodies: In Milton — where the Tories are locked in a tight race with the Grits — Ford boasted an overall 15 per cent boost to GO train service across the GTA and re-upped his call for Ottawa to chip in half for a fully separated passenger rail line that would bring two-way all-day GO train service to town. The changes will also mean a longer wait for certain stops along the UP Express route.
Timing is everything: Oppo critics have accused Ford of rolling out vote-grabbing goodies only because there’s a byelection — but Ford insisted the announcement isn’t about his party’s attempt to hold the seat that was put into play when PARM GILL jumped into the federal ring.
