Another day, another doozy from DOUG FORD. The Premier held an impromptu scrum at Queen’s Park, weighing in on everything from PM MARK CARNEY’s D.C. trip to stunt-driving cabinet ministers. Highlights:
On $100M from the much-maligned Skills Development Fund traced to PC-linked lobbyists, including campaign manager KORY TENEYCKE’s Rubicon Strategies: Ford shrugged off criticism that that amounts to favouritism. “It’s one of the best programs we’ve ever put together. It’s created over 700,000 opportunities for people to teach them a trade….Every organization, some of the largest corporations, governments, municipalities — they have lobbyists. What we make a decision on is what’s best for the people.”
As for federal oversight concerns: “It’s our money, it’s on our budget, it’s on our books.”
On Carney’s White House meeting with DONALD TRUMP, Ford went full-on bad cop (he also appeared on CNN again): “We can’t just keep rolling over to President Trump… it’s like a kid going …
