BROADSIDES AND BACKTRACKS — Premier DOUG FORD turned up the heat on his political rivals, floating the idea of auditing provincial spending to see whether public-sector unions are bankrolling “radical left-wing groups” on the down-low.
Ford’s rant came after ACORN Canada, a tenant advocacy group, stormed the Legislature to protest the passage of Bill 60, the omnibus housing legislation they say will make it easier to evict renters. The legislation, like many others this session, was fast-tracked, so naysayers didn’t get a chance to weigh in at committee.
Ford even heckled back at protesters in the public galleries, telling them to “go find a job.”
