Good Wednesday morning. This is Queen’s Park Observer.

The top doc gave the lay of the land in Ontario as pandemic restrictions ease up, including his thoughts on vaccine passports and a September surge — but first, another sign Covid is receding: Premier DOUG FORD is hitting the links this morning in cottage country.

It’s part of a PC Party fundraising event — the likes of which hasn’t taken place in over a year thanks to the pandemic. The “golf classic” goes down at the Nest Golf Club in Innisfil and features the Simcoe—Muskoka caucus: CAROLINE MULRONEY, DOUG DOWNEY, JILL DUNLOP, ANDREA KHANJIN and NORM MILLER. A round with this crew will set you back $1,000.

The NDP has routinely complained about the PC fundraising events, and Ford has shrugged off their criticism, saying such events are par for the course — especially with an election looming in 2022. But Ethics critic TARAS NATYSHAK doubled down yesterday, saying “Ontarians are rightfully teed off.”
