RATTLED — DOUG FORD is getting testy over the testimony drama. Pressure is mounting on the Premier to end his legal fight against a summons from the federal Emergencies Act inquiry and to answer questions about the province’s handling of the so-called Freedom Convoy under oath.
And it’s clearly getting under Ford’s skin.
Oppo critics have been hammering Ford on the matter every day in Question Period this week. That finally boiled over in a fiery debate on Thursday when interim Liberal leader and Ottawa South MPP JOHN FRASER turned up the heat.
“As the public saw, I was out there non-stop speaking to the people” while Fraser “was hiding in his basement,” Ford fired back after Fraser rattled off a list of ex-Premiers who had waived “parliamentary privilege” to testify at past inquiries and court cases.
