CANDIDATE Q+A — TYLER WATT is hoping to unseat longtime PC rep LISA MACLEOD in Nepean. The social media-savvy registered nurse found a home in the Liberal Party after getting “ghosted” by the NDP’s IAN ARTHUR when he raised concerns about the lack of mental health supports in his then-home riding of Kingston and the Islands. Now, Watt says he wants to take his nursing insight to the next level and help design better policy at Queen’s Park — so he’s making the leap from virtual rooms to the campaign trail.
We caught up with Watt to talk about his political motivation, nomination drama, Covid-era nursing and getting trolled by his opponents.
