FLU SHOT WOES — After a rocky start to Covid inoculations and with the booster campaign underway, Ontario is experiencing some hiccups on another vaccination front: the flu shot.
I’ve heard from multiple sources who are having trouble getting their shot at a pharmacy, from waitlists as long as three weeks to folks being turned away on site because of a lack of supply, or because doses were still being held over for prioritized groups like seniors, despite it being well into November when they should be available for everyone.
One resident called the Rexall just north of Toronto and wasn’t able to get an appointment until the following week. Another person who teaches at U of T told me they were repeatedly shot down by the Shoppers Drug Mart in the Beaches neighbourhood due to shortages.
“I’m in relatively good health, so if I got the flu, I’d probably be okay, but at the same time, I try to do it because other vulnerable people might get sick. And I don’t know who’s in…
