Ontario’s 18-plus crowd becomes eligible for Covid boosters today as the province slashes gathering sizes and Omicron dominates. Here’s what’s happening ahead of the holiday break:
— BOOSTED: Starting at 8 a.m. — and maybe a little earlier — everyone over the age of 18 in Ontario can book an appointment for a booster dose, so long as they’re three months out from their second shot — a shortened interval.
After the Science Table warned that a ramped-up booster campaign alone wouldn’t be enough to stave off crushing ICU numbers, the Ford government also cut gathering sizes from 25 people indoors to 10 and lowered indoor capacity limits for most indoor settings like restaurants, retail and personal care services to 50 per cent.
