LCB-OH NO — Fireworks abound on Day 1 of contract negotiations between the Ford government and the union representing LCBO workers.

What he said: Premier DOUG FORD got personal when accusing OPSEU president JP HORNICK of “lying” to members about the future of the LCBO. “Their leader is actually misleading — let me be more blunt — lying to their members about us closing the LCBO,” Ford told reporters in Pickering, where he put up more housing-target cash via the Building Faster Fund. Ford also noted that Hornick is up for reelection next month.

What they said: Hornick — who along with union members protested outside PC MPP offices this week, including Ford’s in Etobicoke North — had said the union will do “whatever it takes to stop Doug Ford from selling off the LCBO and to protect good union jobs” as negotiations kicked off.
