GOODBYE GOLDIE — It wouldn’t have been the Friday before a long weekend without some bombshell news coming out of Queen’s Park: GOLDIE GHAMARI was booted from the PC caucus. And yes, that too is fanning early election speculation.

The two-term Carleton backbencher will now sit as an Independent after meeting with the U.K.’s far-right figure TOMMY ROBINSON, who founded the anti-Islam English Defence League, has been convicted of multiple offences across the pond and was arrested in Calgary last week.

Officially: While Premier DOUG FORD didn’t mention the pair’s meeting specifically, he called Ghamari’s actions “deeply regrettable” and kicked her out of caucus on the spot.

“This decision follows repeated instances of serious lapses in judgement and a failure to collaborate constructively with caucus leadership and as a team member. While this decision did not come easily, it has become clear that MPP Ghamari can no longer continue in her role within our caucus.”
