UNDER THE BUS — Fallout from the Auditor General’s bombshell Greenbelt probe continues.
The latest: Integrity Commissioner J. DAVID WAKE’s office confirmed it has received a request from Premier DOUG FORD’s office to look into whether RYAN AMATO — the Housing Minister’s chief of staff at the centre of the saga — breached the Public Service Act. That was one of the recommendations in AG BONNIE LYSYK’s report.
Wake is already investigating L’affaire Greenbelt, which focuses on Housing Minister STEVE CLARK, who has denied any wrongdoing. The OPP is still sniffing around, but has yet to launch a formal investigation.
How it could play out: Ford and Clark have admitted the process was flawed big time, but heads have yet to roll. It’s possible they’re waiting on the results of Wake’s investigations before potentially sacking Amato or shuffling Clark. Amato has shouldered much of the blame so far, while Clark and Ford say they were unaware of what was going on. That’s just as b…
